The SSPRPA Legislative Committee meets monthly as the Legislative Initiative Group. Members review pending legislation and its effect on Park and Recreation agencies in Illinois; make recommendations to the Illinois Association of Park Districts; and discuss other issues of interest to SSPRPA agencies.
The Committee also sponsors a Legislative Breakfast as part of a series throughout the State with IAPD. Agency Staff Members and Commissioners meet with area Senators and Representatives to hear their positions on issues and update them on local initiatives and concerns.
Anyone with an interest in legislation and policy initiatives is welcome to attend.
