Vision:

To provide members of SSPRPA and other professionals in the parks & recreation field a committee where Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are discussed. The Diversity committee topics will focus on/around recent events/news, gender, race, religion, culture, and ability. During meetings members will are encouraged to share ideas, problem solve and talk about DEI in the park, conservation, and recreation field. We generally meet after the SSPRPA General monthly Meeting. The Diversity Committee is a safe space and helps promote IPRA’s DEI initiatives.

 

Goals:

1. Coordinate and complete one service project decided on by the committee.

2. Be a resource for agencies belonging to SSPRPA.

3. Meet on a regular basis during the SSPRPA year (September-May).

DEI looks a little different today.  However, the message is STILL the same.
